"Tulocay Wines"
This is a winery for lovers of wine with a good sense of humor. The Tulocay winery is located in the Napa valley and is one of the oldest wineries in the area. This wine site is a very pleasant place to visit with a unique perspective on wines and how we are all recognized for our own tastes in wine. (I like that) These folks seem to have a very healthy attitude to the world of wine and give us a look at some of the history of early California.
Here is a lead in from their site:See "Our News" about the "Tulocay" vs. "Coombsville" controversy (and other startling revelations)!
Few wine connoisseurs realize that Tulocay is one of the oldest wineries in Napa Valley. Dating from 1975, Tulocay has been acknowledged by Napa Valley insiders and old timers as having its own style. While many wines around the world today are made in the same "international" style, Tulocay wines are made by traditional methods that reflect the character of the individual vineyard as expressed by the winemaker. And they are wines meant to be an integral part of the meal.
Like art, film, literature and politics, wine is an individual taste. One can seek out the highly rated and well publicized wines. That's fine. But how many really express an art form and how many are simply made to garner high scores in wine publications?
This is a question that you, the wine drinker, must decide.A note from Skippy, our Chief Cellar Rat:
If you're looking for White Zinfandel, mass-produced Merlot, or sweet, fruity Chardonnay, go away.
But if your taste tends toward kick-out-the-jambs Cabernets, Zinfandels, Syrahs and Merlots, you've come to the right place.
P.S. ... Check this site out, you will enjoy your visit I am sure. Murray
