"Wine Cellars in Our Homes"
We would all love to have our own wine cellars in our homes if we had the space. This room would provide the best place to store our much loved favorite drink and let's face it, what a conversation starter. These rooms have a few conditions that need to be adhered to including, the correct temperatures that range between 45 and 65 degrees F. The humidity,while up for some debate should be considered. Lining the walls with wine racks to hold the bottles is an area to put your thought and money toward when completing this room. It is reported that the wine itself must keep in touch with the cork at all times. This prevents the cork from drying out which would not be good for the preservation of your wine. There are numerous models for designing these special rooms. They range from the luxurious to the very basic wine racks housed in a closet in your home. One does have to live to the practicalities of a budget and the facilities that your home can provide. Some of the home builders have included a storage area for wine off the pantry of their model homes. The one we encountered was a very upscale home. This would suggest a couple of concepts: these wine rooms are a selling feature to a home; the builders are able to get access to the technology for these special rooms.The one we saw was spectacular with French doors leading into it.
